Glan Llyn is a 20 year project to transform the 600 acre former Llanwern Steelworks site into a £1bn sustainable community.
The site’s developer, St Modwen, is working with Newport City Council to deliver 6,000 new jobs as well as 4,000 new homes at Glan Llyn.
Public services will include two primary schools, community areas, shops and cafes as well as parkland and sports facilities.
The £1.5m Celtic Business Park development with office, industrial and warehouse space at the heart of Glan Llyn will help bring new job opportunities to the area.
Online retail giant Amazon recently opened a delivery station on the site employing more than 50 people.
The project will also integrate transport links, including roads, cycle routes, bus services and footpaths.
A new rail station has been proposed at the development as well as a 100 park and ride service.
