COVID-19, Monday 23 March: applications for all new vehicle and driver applications are on hold until further notice.
Advice to taxi drivers during the COVID-19 pandemic
Vehicle licence renewal applications may be made online.
Your licences will be emailed to you and when we're able, a paper licence and windscreen 'plate' will be issued.
You may continue operating and working with an out of date windscreen “plate” during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Please ensure that you provide the emailed copy of your licence to your private hire operator if applicable.
If you do not renew your vehicle licence you will not be able to operate the vehicle as a private hire or hackney carriage vehicle.
Driver's licence renewals: we will email an application form to you to be completed and emailed back to us.
If your licence is due to expire and you have not received an email please email email@example.com
We will email your paper driver's licence and email a copy to your named private hire operator.
Once you have received your renewal paper licence via email you may continue working, using your out of date drivers badge during the coronavirus outbreak.
You will still be required to undertake a criminal record check and medical (if required) and make payment, but this will be undertaken at a later date.
If you do not renew your driver licence you will not be able to operate a vehicle as a private hire or hackney carriage vehicle.
Drivers who have received criminal records checks should email a copy of the full document to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please ensure you keep hold of the copy as we will be required to see the document at a later date.
If required, drivers can pay the annual fee for the licence online.
Keep up to date with COVID-19 guidelines and updated service information.
We appreciate your cooperation at this difficult time.
