Newport City Council has successfully registered to receive the Alzheimer's Society National Accreditation as working towards becoming a dementia friendly city.
A joint delivery plan and partnership, Dementia Action Alliance, will raise awareness of dementia in local organisations and businesses through training and information events.
Over 700 people have attended Dementia Friends sessions in Newport to learn a bit about what its like to live with dementia and how to help and turn that understanding into action.
