Free school meals

Coronavirus COVID-19: free school meals

Eligible children will have access to free school meals while schools are being repurposed during the coronavirus outbreak.

Any child eligible for free school meals will be able to attend any hub setting (times to be agreed locally) to collect a lunch of a sandwich, crisps, snack and a piece of fruit.

We are unable to arrange delivery to children who are self-isolating or socially distancing, however affected families can make local arrangements for someone else to attend and collect on their behalf.

Easter holiday update

Eligible children will be able to access free school meals over the Easter holidays.

The existing free school meal hubs will open on one day each week, in line with the Government’s directives on social distancing.

A hamper containing enough for children to be given five packed lunches to cover the whole week will be given to families.

Families will be able to collect the lunch hampers from the hubs on Tuesday 7 April and Tuesday 14 April only.

The hub at Caerleon Comprehensive School will continue to open each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, inclusive of Bank Holidays.
